The Bible teaches us that the church, like a body, has many parts. At Southside, we believe that God calls each and every member into ministry. In the church each believer has a God-given ministry which they carry out in service to God and to others. Just as there are varieties of people and abilities there are varieties of ministry opportunities at Southside.
MEMBERSHIP/EVANGELISM- The work of shepherding God's people and overseeing the work of carrying out our God-given mission is entrusted to our elders. These leaders plan, administer, and evaluate the activities of Southside Christian Church to train and involve the membership in the task of pointing others to Christ and growing in Him themselves.
CHRISTIAN
EDUCATION MINISTRY-
This ministry
plans, oversees, and evaluates all instructional activities undertaken and
supported by the local congregation.
Various activities include but are not limited to Sunday School, VBS, Bible
Studies,
and Kingdom Kids.
MISSIONS
MINISTRY-This ministry seeks to develop and maintain a world view of
evangelism. It provides an
opportunity for personal and financial involvement in world evangelism and keeps
the congregation informed with regard to supported missions.
STEWARDSHIP
MINISTRY - This ministry seeks to foster an attitude of stewardship and a
spirit of generosity within the congregation.
This ministry oversees the financial resources of the congregation.
PROPERTY
MINISTRY- This ministry seeks to develop a stewardship attitude in
the maintenance of the physical property of the Southside Christian Church. This
ministry plans for the future development of the same and encourages a sense of
pride in the facilities of the congregation.
HOSPITALITY- This ministry seeks to create and encourage opportunities
for friendship/fellowship within the congregation and to develop programs to
integrate new members into the fellowship of the church. This ministry oversees
regular functions within the church's life and sees that hospitality is provided
to guest speakers.
WORSHIP-This ministry coordinates and plans the music and worship
activities of the church. The goal
of the ministry is to promote Biblical worship and to plan activities which
reflect the gifts and interests of the congregation; incorporating the church’s
worship heritage with new activities and expressions of praise.
PRAYER
MINISTRY - This ministry coordinates prayer activities such as
prayer lists, prayer vigils, the sending of Prayer-O-Grams, and the churches
“Prayer Chain”.
